With experience in strategy, consulting, and coaching, Juan Pedro combines a background in business administration with training as a psychological counselor and organizational coach. He brings that same strategic, empathetic approach to the process of moving countries: guiding each family through the human side of the decision — the uncertainty, the doubts, the adjustment — while working as a personal shopper alongside the Arocena Advisory team through the full search and acquisition process, in both markets.

Branding

Behind every advisory firm is a story that needs to be told well. Nicolás leads the brand identity, visual language, and communication strategy for Arocena Advisory — drawing on years of building and running his own company in Argentina, where brand positioning was as critical as the product itself. At Arocena Advisory, he ensures that every touchpoint reflects the firm's values: independence, expertise, and a personal approach to every search.

Family History

Our connection to land,
properties, and exceptional places.

Our connection to land, properties, and exceptional places is part of our family history and links us to those who helped shape the Argentina and Uruguay we know today.

1887 · Argentina

Candelaria
takes charge.

We are descendants of Doña Candelaria Fouillerac de Duhau, a woman ahead of her time who, after being widowed in 1887, assumed responsibility for managing her family's agricultural enterprises. At a time when women rarely held visible leadership positions, she managed estates, oversaw livestock operations, and made business decisions that played a decisive role in consolidating the family's agricultural holdings. La Candelaria estate in Trenque Lauquen still bears her name and honors her legacy.

1934 · Argentina

Palacio Duhau,
Avenida Alvear.

Our history is also closely connected to Palacio Duhau, one of Buenos Aires's most iconic private residences. Our great-grandfather, Luis Duhau, commissioned the construction of the family palace, which was completed in 1934 on Avenida Alvear and designed by French architect Léon Dourge.

Conceived as a grand family residence, the palace became home to his children and their respective families. Over time, the building became a symbol of Buenos Aires's French-inspired architecture. Today, it forms part of Palacio Duhau–Park Hyatt and remains a landmark of elegance, heritage, and hospitality.

Early 1900s · Uruguay

Alfredo and
the garden city.

In Uruguay, our family is descended from Ramón Arocena Castro and his son Alfredo Arocena Artagaveytia, our great-grandfather and a key figure in the transformation of Carrasco.

A lawyer, entrepreneur, and visionary, Alfredo envisioned a residential seaside development in the early twentieth century, inspired by the elegance of Europe's great urban centers. His vision brought together architecture, urban planning, nature, and quality of life, giving rise to a garden suburb that would become one of Montevideo's most prestigious and emblematic neighborhoods.

He also promoted the construction of the historic Hotel Carrasco, conceived as the centerpiece of this urban project and around which a residential community with a distinctive identity developed. Avenida Alfredo Arocena keeps his name alive and continues to commemorate his vision and contribution to the city.

Legacy

These stories share
a common outlook.

These stories share a common outlook: an understanding of land and architecture not merely as assets, but as spaces capable of bringing families together, fostering identity, and building a shared history. Homes and estates served as gathering places, while also providing stability and economic development across generations.

However, our family's true legacy lies neither in its properties nor solely in its business achievements or pioneering spirit, but in the personal values our ancestors sought to pass down from one generation to the next. Today, we strive to honor that legacy with gratitude, and we hope that the mark we leave will also endure through those values — beyond any professional or entrepreneurial accomplishment.
